Simple Crowdfunding 2022 Review & Highlights

As we move into 2023, we wanted to take a moment to thank all of our customers, suppliers, friends and supporters for the backing that you provided last year.  It was another great year of engagement, investment, new project launches, education and more.  Here are just some of the highlights from 2022.

Our platform and team continue to be recognised for our work in this industry.  Here are some of our nominations and awards in 2022.

• Peer to Peer Finance Awards 2022:  
• Simple Crowdfunding shortlisted for the Financial Inclusion Award
• Atuksha Poonwassie shortlisted for the CEO of the Year Award 
• Best Start Up:  Davin Poonwassie recognised as one of London’s 13 most impressive and successful directors in the funding platform space
• Atuksha Poonwassie is recognised again in the Peer to Peer Finance News Power 50 for 2022 that recognises the most influential people in this industry
  
• One of our advisors, Duncan Carew Jones launches an Amazon #1 bestseller in 5 categories and book sales go global
  

The team and platform have been working with other platform owners globally in order to progress this marketplace.  Two of these collaborations are:

• Simple Crowdfunding is a founding member of the UK Crowdfunding Association 36H Group
• Simple Crowdfunding is a founding member of AREIP (Association of Real Estate Investment Platforms), a global initiative launched to bring standardisation across platforms

The platform continues to see projects being funded and funds being returned.  These include:

• Equity:  Belfield, that is currently slightly ahead of development and Court Street, an equity raise where the project is complete and is on the market for sale
• Peer to Peer Loans (ISA friendly):  Yorkshire refurbishment opportunity that was sold and investors paid back early and Acorn’s Sherston, project that has currently raised over £1.4M
• We also continue to fund projects that are not available to everyone
  

Education took many forms last year.  We spoke at numerous events, (both property and finance events), we provided online education and some investors have had the benefit of expanding their knowledge about property through the learn whilst investing programme.
