10 Years On: Atuksha Reconfirmed as a Director of the UK Crowdfunding Association

We're delighted to share some exciting news from the recent UKCFA Annual General Meeting: our co-founder and Managing Director, Atuksha Poonwassie, has been reconfirmed as a Director of the UK Crowdfunding Association (UKCFA) — marking a brilliant 10 years of service to the industry we all love.

For Atuksha, this milestone is about more than just a title. It's a decade of championing growth, sparking new ideas, supporting fundraising innovation, and bringing real flair to the world of peer-to-peer lending and crowdfunding here in the UK.

"It's been an incredible 10 years working alongside such a passionate community of platforms, regulators, and investors.  The UKCFA has always been about more than representation.  It's about helping the whole sector grow stronger, smarter, and more accessible together.  I'm proud to continue this journey, and excited about what's next."

Why the UKCFA Matters

Founded in 2013, the UKCFA is the leading voice for the UK's crowdfunding and alternative finance industry.  As a long-standing member and founding member of the UKCFA's 36h Group, which focuses on peer-to-peer lending, Simple Crowdfunding has seen first-hand how the Association helps to:

  • Champion innovation in peer-to-peer lending and crowdfunding
  • Strengthen industry standards, giving investors greater confidence
  • Connect platforms and investors across the UK
  • Advocate for regulatory clarity, working directly with the FCA, HM Treasury, and the British Business Bank
It's this collective voice that helps ensure the sector can keep growing in a way that's sustainable, well-regulated, and genuinely beneficial for everyone involved — from developers raising finance to everyday investors building their portfolios.

Looking Ahead

Simple Crowdfunding's connection to the UKCFA remains as important as ever. Atuksha's continued role on the board means we're not just part of the conversation about the future of UK alternative finance - we're helping to shape it. Here's to the next chapter for the UKCFA, and to many more years of growth, innovation, and opportunity across our industry.

Our commitment to industry excellence manifests in several key areas:
